The building of Air Traffic Control responsible for the supervision of civil aviation in Hungary was erected close to the town end of Runway 1 in Ferihegy Airport of Budapest.
After commissioning this facility (year 1998) this is where all the civil aircrafts entering the air space of Hungary was to be controlled up to the near apron of the airport, where the control tower takes over the control.
Parking lots for 156 cars are provided adjacent to the building.
The heart of the building is a control room having a floor area of 25x30 m and a headroom corresponding to two standard floors, where the latest air control technology is installed at 25 aircraft control workstations. The rest of the building is occupied by various functions such as offices, snack bar, kitchen and canteen, mechanical engineering and power services.
The control centre is also provided with state of the art telecommunication (structured) network, building supervisory, automatic fire alarm and extinguishing systems.
